This is one of many threads which I've meant to respond to but forgot, overlooked, or ran out of time for. Until now.

I love both Chick and Herbie for many reasons, so won't make the mistake of choosing one over the other. That would be silly.

My wife and I were lucky enough to enjoy Chick Corea for the 3rd or 4th time a couple of weeks ago, this time in a duo setting with Bela Fleck. I meant to write a review of that concert but got busy with other things and didn't get it done. Suffice it to say that both Chick and Bela are superb musicians, and since they've been playing together for some time and have recorded an album together, are simpatico. It was an amazing, personal evening ... intimacy of musical expression in a 2000 seat auditorium. Chick and Bela were a treat, weaving a unique tapestry from their respective backgrounds and passions. There were many surprises, but they were all great ones!

While I don't dig or endorse Scientology, let alone understand why people I enjoy and respect such as Chick Corea and John Travolta embrace it, I won't boycott their performances. And, I certainly won't engage in projecting potential side effects of their involvement. That's dangerous and judgemental, in my view.

My life has been enriched by Chick Corea on more occasions and in more ways than I can count.

Here's another duo I can't get too much of, Chick Corea & Gary Burton.

You can judge for yourself. Chick and Herbie are touring together.
