I apologize for the edit button issue. I just got back home, so I'll dig through the admin stuff to see what parameters need to be changed. Anybody should be able to edit their own posts as much as they'd like.

Thanks.

As regards to embedding tweets, on jazzcorner you do it the same way as embedding a youtube video, using the embed code.

Since I have seen that you are working on embedding videos, you mite kill two flies in one swoop if you get that done

Its also my opinion, that you have to limit the number of nested quotes. But only one quote with no other quote included is very hard.

Just my opinion, what are other members think about that?

Sorry for the frustration.

In the meantime, would you be so kind as to change your Author/Username to something other than Unicode?

Can somebody hip me to posting an image? I use to be able to just copy and paste an image directly without bothering with codes. That doesn't work now. I've tried several different ways with no luck. What gives?

I tried it with image tags as well as url tags. Didn't work. Obviously I'm doing something wrong. This is what I get when I use the img tag function.

I'll delete this crazy huge post after you view and comment on it.

Couldn't delete the post but I got rid of the extraneous stuff.

I right clicked on the image and copied the image url and pasted it in between the image brackets . Don't know what else to do. I'll figure it out eventually. Gotta go back and delete that obnoxiously large post.

Okay, if you can resize the above image and post it as my avatar I would greatly appreciate it.

There are two ways you can post an image without dealing with img tags. Both involve using the "Upload attachment" functions on the posting window.

Option #1 - Image from another site (URL)
- Right click (Ctrl+Click on Mac) on an image and copy image location
- Click on the Browse... button in the Upload attachment area of your post
- Paste in the image URL and hit open
- Wait a few seconds for your computer to retrieve a copy of the file from your image cache
- When you post your message, the image will appear as an attached image within the post

Option #2 - Image from your computer
- Click on the Browse... button in the Upload attachment area of your post
- Navigate to the file you want to upload and double click to select
- When you post your message, the image will appear as an attached image within the post

Results of uploading using Option 1 shown here.

Thanks, bro. I'll eventually get used to the board's ins and outs. BTW, I noticed that most of my posts are able to be deleted but a couple are not. No biggie, though. It's probably a temporary glitch. Thanks again, Scott. And thanks to jtx as well.

This is from the phpBB FAQ: Please note that normal users cannot delete a post once someone has replied.

Based on the above, the presence of a reply will make the difference whether you can delete your own post or not, unless you are moderator, in which case it is possible to delete any post.

Now that I've replied to my own post above, I can no longer delete it. (I could until now). But until someone replies to this one, I now see a small X that allows me to delete the post.

I agree with Scott. I'm sure there's the rare instance when a poster might edit a post to get the upper hand in an argument but that's on him or her. I think most people edit for innocuous reasons such as spelling, grammar, punctuation or just to add another thought. I do it quite often because I'm so anal. In the past, whenever I edited, everytime that edit tag was added it made the post look "suspicious" even though I edited to, say, add a comma or make a word plural. Something very innocent but it made the post look like I made a more comprehensive change.
