This recognition from the Guinness World Records came at the end of 2015, but still worth a mention a year later! 2,221 individual recordings as of September 2015.

I don't suspect this record will be surpassed anytime soon...
Anyone have a favorite among the 2,221 recordings?

My favorite new recording with Ron Carter was released in 2016, so this might just be recording #2,222:

Re: Ron Carter, the most recorded jazz bassist in history
Ron Carter is not only prolific, he's played with a vast number of musicians and led a number of his own groups, as well. Among many albums I've heard, I really like much of his output with Herbie Hancock, including some trio work with Tony Williams in the drum chair.
For example:
And, of course, Ron's period with Miles Davis, including this one, another favorite, with Herbie Hancock, saxophonist Wayne Shorter, and Tony on drums.
The list could be unmanageable.
