Mario Pavone Nonet: Street Songs / The Accordion Project
This series is part of a four venue workshop/process/performance arc where the audience is invited to attend and observe that part of the creative evolution that occurs when player / improvisers join to construct, prepare and hone a performance. The process will culminate on Sunday, August 10th @ 1:30pm with a concert at the 19th annual Litchfield Jazz Festival.
Please consider joining us and becoming part of the process!

- This Saturday evening concert is dedicated to Michael Duva, who also [in addition to music promoter Josef Kaempf] left us way too early, just after Christmas 2013. Michael was a music promoter who for 15 years (1979-1994) hosted the finest New York city A-list jazz musicians at his legendary "hillside jazz club" in Waterbury, CT. He did it purely for the music!

In residence / senior faculty, Litchfield Jazz Camp

- (Students are invited to register for the exciting "downtown composition" course with myself and trumpeter/composers Dave Ballou and Russ Johnson.)
- "The non-traditional atmosphere of this course encourages participants to experiment, push beyond limits, genres and categories, to take risks, and to develop their own deeply personal musical expression."
