You drank some doubles and became visually impaired?

You imbibed and doubled visually?

Hi, uli! Not sure whether that's going out to all the oldsters celebrating birthdays or everybody on JT, but happy birthday to you too!

I was 36 when I first entered Jazz Corner in 1999; I'm 51 now.

I have become the moldy fig I used to rail against.

Nor can I believe that I'm 70½ years and counting, though I can believe that I'm headed for bed.

We have younger reinforcements coming in to cover us.

Just received a birthday party notice for our old friend SquaredancecallingSteve, who is about to turn 70.

Wish he'd join us here!

We could gang up on SquaredancecallingSteve and send him bulk invitations. ;)

I'll send him one now.

Edit: I just sent Steve an e-mail.

Well, I sent SquaredancecallingSteve an e-mail as promised, but didn't get the response I had hoped for. I'm pretty certain that Steve wouldn't mind me sharing it with you.

Hi, Ron,

Wish I felt like I had the time. Really. But I'm busier than ever. Rita
did get me to take Tuesdays off through the summer so we can dance in the
town square, jammed every week:

Tuesdays In The Plaza

I do miss the group and in later years, as I enter my dotage (as the rest
of you have), I'll rejoin you.

Best recent records I've heard:

Joelle Leandre & Pascal Content -- 3

Lake Street Dive -- Bad Self Portraits

Best wishes to all. I shall return. But not this year.

Steve

Got this from SqDance the other day. Pretty friggin' cool:
Saturday I called my 28th annual dance for the San Francisco Girls' Chorus, always a yearly highlight. This year they honored me with a special Happy Birthday:

51 is scarcely a "moldy fig," Steve. What are you going to call yourself when you get to Clint's age? ;)

I don't want to guess, but I'm pretty sure it won't be "Steve."

June, you were responding to a quote from Jason, not Steve. ;)
