1st Birthday Challenge
Here are three completely different challenges for our 1st birthday celebration:
1. Come up with some truly unique 1st birthday graphics of your own design or something you found online. If they're jazz-related, you may just get a prize.
2. Create a new jazz thread which will stimulate the most dialogue and number of posts. I'm not sure if there will be a prize, but if there is, I can probably come up with something unique, perhaps something from Alaska.
3. Bring a friend and get them registered by Sunday, June 29th. Again, the more friends you add to our "family", the better. A prize might be in the offing.

Good ideas, Ron.
Did this site really make it to 1 year without a single boner thread from thelil?

I'm not sure. If so, this might be some sort of record.

Mostly, we want everyone to just have a good time talking about whatever pleases them. We hope to add some new members, too.
Here's an idea we came up with yesterday and Justin hit out of the park. Thanks, jtx. You da man!

Yes, it did! Lenny, you started the first boner thread, and HenryMc started the second. But (thelil) didn't start any!

I sure hope jtx is disqualified from the "1st birthday graphics" challenge! Awesome.

Re: 1st Birthday Challenge
If I can make a suggestion:
How about an effort in general to post something related to jazz once [1X] per week.
I'd have to think that among this crowd we see an article or get some kind of news comes across our collective bows.

Sources: Herbie Hancock, Maiden Voyage (Blue Note); Paul Bley, One Year After (3D Japan).
Please view it as large as you can by using JT's Image Resizer (upper left corner).
Being the highly paid holder of a prestigious position at JT, I don't expect to be eligible for a prize.

That's a very reasonable suggestion, and something I've been trying to do with the help of bluenoter/Rita. If you take a look at Jazztalk Central and Jazz News, I think you'll see reasonable activity recently, though it can always benefit from being increased. Again, the more posters and posts, the better.

Thanks, Ron. I hope Blue Note won't mind that I put blue in green (cough!).

Well, if I'm eligible for a gold cup, I guess I'm eligible for another little prize, so I want Photoshop and private lessons in its use. Thanks in advance!
