HOW GREAT ARE THE METS?
The Mets are AWESOME (2014)
I foresee greatness.
They rule. They are two games over .500 in early May!
They are in third place with the same record as the Yankees, who are in first place in their division.
It's time.
Mets rule.

Re: The Mets are AWESOME (2014)
It's that time of year again, huh?
I admire your optimism. Kind of like the lobster in the pot who's super pumped that the water is getting toasty.
I can't bring myself to watch the Phillies. I just don't think I can put myself through it. I've sat through so many bad seasons over the years that I think I've earned the right to be one of those pussy bandwagon jumpers. If they get good someone should let me know and I'm totally there.

I hear you. But at least you had a good run of four or five years, right?

Listen: We've got a knuckle ball pitcher you can have for cheap.

Yes, it was fun while it lasted. But I'm not used to winning. Nobody told me that when they finally win you fully expect them to do the same thing next year or the misery returns.

That's a shame. He's an easy guy to root for.
Did you check out the documentary? Knuckle Ball, I believe. Recommended.

A likeable guy sure but yet to fulfil any promise here. We gave up D'Arnaud and Syndergaard which at this point seems like a win for the Mets. I'll look for the Doc.
Mariano Rivera on Jon Stewart this week gave Stewart (a long suffering Mets fan) a Yankee's jersey to which he responded "great I have to wash my car".
Re: The Mets are AWESOME (2014)
How can you be a long-suffering Mets fan? They win the series almost every year.
HOW GREAT ARE THE METS?
I need to know your thoughts.
How great are the Mets?
1. Really great
2. Exceptionally great
3. Ridiculously great
4. Greater than great
5. They are the greatest team in the history of the solar system
6. They are the greatest team in the history of the Universe
7. They are so great, we don't even need a polling system on Jazztalk.net.

Well, if we ever need one, we've got one. Underneath the "New Topic" / "Post a new topic" form, on the left, are three tabs; in addition to "Options" and "Attachments," there's "Poll creation."

It's hard being so right on in one's predictions.

I'm confident that you're getting used to it by now.

Re: HOW GREAT ARE THE METS?
It was a great run. Seriously. One that surpassed all expectations... except mine, of course.
Wait 'til next year!

Well. It's next year. I ask you; how great are the Mets?
Re: HOW GREAT ARE THE METS?
The Mets split the series with the Royals and showed them who the boss is.
Or perhaps, just perhaps, an upper-level manager.
