Do you know anything about either of the groups for which this concert will be raising money?
Surely not all of a sudden. Less than half of a sudden at best.

The Jazz Foundation of America, sure. The other one, not really.
Do you want me to find you links or blurbs (later, though), or will you do it your own self (if you want to)? The latter would probably be better, because I don't know what due diligence would be for you.
Several jazz musicians have already contributed to the Indiegogo campaign (as did I); one can see the list of contributors. And IMO, getting RetailMeNot as the project's first sponsor is quite a coup.

I'll do it myself. I just thought since you were doing a little hyping for them you might have some interest in/prior knowledge of the beneficiaries.

Walto, the Jazz Foundation of America is a JazzCorner client and charity partner/beneficiary. Lois Gilbert has been hyping JFA for, like, 20 years! And a brief look at info. about MADLOM was all I personally needed before plunking down my generous $10 donation to the Dolphy project and starting to spread the word.
I really think we each have to do our own due diligence, perhaps after being provided with places to start. So I posted places to start (were they not helpful as such?)---

Sure.
I note that you seem mad at me for asking what you know about these groups. I'm not sure why, though.

Walto, here's the short answer, and the less-short answer is on its way to you in a PM:
♪♫ I ain't mad at you,
Don't you be mad at me,
I ain't mad at you,
Don't you be mad at me,
One and one is two,
Two and one is three. ♪♫
In #2 and #3, I hope to convey why I've been psyched about having the Dolphy celebration take place. Folks, please take a look at #2 and #3 if they said "under construction" when you arrived at this thread. Thanks!

Here's an Indiegogo widget that's automatically updated to show the progress
of the Dolphy project's fundraising campaign. It's clickable, too.
Edit: No more widget, but the final total was $12,377 raised, 35% of the $35,000 goal.

I deleted my post pleading for rides to/from the Dolphy fest from/to just about anywhere else. In the end, I didn't go. As I posted on another site,

(No plan for Saturday would have been idiot-proof, and the organizers hadn't followed through on providing a shuttle.) But after much agonizing, I decided not to spend 10+ hours on buses and trains to attend a 3½-hour concert.
