Thanks guys. That shot was taken with the Sony RX1. It has a fixed 35 mm lens.

I worked another summer picture today. I removed two cars, an old milk crate, and an ugly boat. I exposed for the foreground and put a negative exposure gradient on the sky to bring out the colors. The blue channel luminosity was turned down too.

For what it's worth, I can see Industrial in post #45, Coda. It doesn't appear to have been deleted ... at least not from my view. It was always visible to me.

Here are a few shots from Hawaii, from the beginning of our 49th Anniversary Tour. Yes, I'm wearing a sweater ... a first for me on the islands. There was a cool breeze at brunch, following a considerable rain.

I'm enjoying a Hawaiian Mimosa (made with Passion Fruit juice) and a 4-Pepper-Bacon Eggs Benedict.

Thanks, Coda. I brought 5 lenses* with me to Hawaii, so expect more shots here and on 500px.

Remember, each lens is 2X the stated focal length in view of the micro 4/3 sensor size being ½ that of a full frame sensor. So, the 14-42 is a really useful wide angle + (28-84mm); the 50mm is a wonderful portrait lens (100mm), etc.

Yes, it's better.

My (landscape) photos above are 800x600 pixels. I never post larger than 1024x768, to prevent the need to scroll on laptops. I think that's the size you posted. Right?

I went back, this time using the sigma DP2M. It's not where it needs to me, I need an even wider lens.



It's a four image stitch. I need to get it down to two. There is a building at my back and trees up above so I can't stand back any further.

Ron, I set the short edge of these updated jazznet pics to 1,800 pixels. I would like to see your pics larger but...it's really a crap shot as to what's the best size to use for the web. It really depends on the end user's system. New monitors have a lot more resolution than the older systems, even on laptops. I use 3200 pixels for the short edge when sending to my iPad photos library on the 8x10 screen. It gives me enough room to zoom in and still keep the file size reasonable.

I'd love feedback from everyone. Let me know if you want them larger or smaller as a standard size. It's an easy update to make going forward.

Thanks Valerie. Summit is parallel to Commonwealth Avenue and Beacon Street. It's right between Allston and Brookline.
