I hate TBS broadcasts, they are replay happy. Hey idiots, show a replay once if it is a close play or twice if it's a huge hit. But don't show that pitch location or a force out. Announcers stink, so I turn off the sound except during the regular season when we can listen to the music of Vinnie.

The single most annoying thing about all TBS games is what they do with the audio of the on field action. Every pitch or ball that comes in contact with a glove sounds like the fastest Nolan Ryan heater ever. Every batted ball sounds so loud, from foul tips to well struck hits...whatever the heck they're doing it's so fake sounding or over enhanced as to be really annoying.

One thing Fox gets right is on-field sound. I can't wait for the time when sports broadcasts are available without commentary just field/ice and crowd sound.

I hate to think this idea has been abandoned by network gurus.

I watched a Fox broadcast of a Tiger game when they honoured Ernie Harwell with 2 minutes of broadcast silence. In Scotts word, bliss. Crack of bat, smack of glove, murmur to roar of crowd. Occasional words from the dugout (perhaps an adult uncut version could be available?). I'd love to hear the trash talk of hockey games and the interchange between managers and umpires. Hell I may even be willing to pay for it.

I think that Puig is trying too hard and is extremely frustrated.

Yes, Dodger bats need to get busy ... and quickly! Their best two pitchers have gotten virtually no run support whatsoever. 19 scoreless innings!!

Having Hanley Ramirez & Matt Kemp out of the lineup is a really big deal, too. Especially Hanley!

When Puig rounded second and headed to third on his way to a triple where he had a burst of acceleration and reached a speed that both appeared greater than I'd ever seen in baseball.

You obviously never saw Bo Jackson or Joey Gathright play. Not saying Puig is slow, but I have serious doubts he's as fast as either of them. (in their primes, of course)

Bo Jackson was very fast, but as a baseball player, I thought he was a better football player. I never saw Gathright play, so can't comment on his speed. Having said that, I will say that Yasiel Puig is one of the fastest baseball players I've ever seen ... period. Also, he's a balanced player offering multiple threats. Puig is simply one of the most enjoyable, talented, joyful baseball players I've seen in decades, maybe ever! His raw talents are on display in every category—running, hitting, throwing and catching. And, despite his relative inexperience in MLB, he possesses a rare, priceless quality ... instinct.

As far as base running speed, the Dodgers have another speedster in Dee Gordon.

I was at the All-Star game when Bo hit that gigantic home run. I'll never forget it.

Puig is very fast, probably not any faster than Mike Trout. He gave the Cards an opening when he hot dogged the fly ball. Don't these guys ever use both hands when there's a tough catch?

Dodgers hung on to win so now it's back to St. Louis, the home of the world's biggest croquet hoop.

For the most part, the faster athletes in pro sports tend to play football.

No argument there, Scott. I was simply pointing out my preference for Bo as a football player, that's all. His skill sets were more in tune with that sport, in my estimation.

Bo was a great player, no doubt about that. But if he hadn't played football, he could have had a much longer baseball career. He probably believed the "superhuman" hype.

Very few people, including me, could have predicted the outcome of game 6 in the NLCS. The Dodgers imploded, Kershaw sank, Mattingly didn't manage his pitching staff, and the Cardinals hit and ran like there was no tomorrow. Well, there isn't for the Dodgers, despite their exciting 2013 season.

Went to bed in the 6th after the Sox left runners on 2nd and 3rd, down 2-1, fully expecting to wake up and see that a Game 7 awaited. Happily surprised to see the Sox win the pennant in typically dramatic fashion. Fourth time the Sox and Cards will have met for the championship, with the Cards holding a 2-1 advantage. Sox got the better of them in 2004; last time the Sox went from worst to first and met them was 1967. Thankfully, no Bob Gibson this time out, and the Sox somehow survived the best pitching they faced all season. Should be a good series.
