The Economist newspaper: I really can't imagine how this staple in my life could be improved upon. (I'm speaking here of the printed version; the web version is another story.) Intelligent, humorous, timely, geographically comprehensive.
Lentils: Yes, they came up in a food thread here. Just love them. And guilt-free.
My main Post Office/Postmistress: She deals with all my eccentricites...and those of the 100 or so other eccentrics in my former hometown/current principal mailing address. It's a really wacky place. With the post office as the only public building, she holds the whole town together. Imagine herding squirrels on crack.
The color red: Works for anything. Cars. Underwear. Hair. Red lentils.
