Shamelessly Brag About Your Significant Other!

Postby Blue Train » July 27th, 2013, 11:44 am

My wife is still 2nd in her class and the last two terms she was pregnant!

To paraphrase the Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers quote.

My wife has done the same while pregnant and @ times in heels.

Okay, I'll play. Last year we redid our kitchen. My indefatigable wife Joanne single handedly tiled and grouted our kitchen/dining area. She did it because she didn't trust a "professional" to do the job. I did my part by staying out of her way. In my defense, she ignored me when I suggested she call a professional. I told her no way I was going to work all day and come home to tiling. She had no problem doing that. I get tired just watching this woman.

My wife was recently sworn in as an Adminstrative Law Judge. Gov. Patrick was out of town so the ceremony took place in his office. Her office is palatial (I'm so resentful--I have a cube).
Surely not all of a sudden. Less than half of a sudden at best.

Congratulations, to your wife and you!

Any Sun Ra memorabilia in his office?

Just kidding, of course. Joanne is a very intelligent person but when it comes to the Internet, uhmmm...not so much.

Once I got familiar with the available software here and the resizing app it's a piece of cake.

Many of you already know how I feel about Patti, but I thought you might like a peek at one of her many skills ... sewing. And, this is not just any sewing, it's a prized project steeped in tradition — a handmade, patchwork, family Christmas Stocking. She's made one for every family member, including our children's spouses and their children, of course — over 15 by latest count. I documented this recent project with photos, the making of the Christmas Stocking for our newest grandchild, Kai, the son of our technical master here, Justin (jtx), and his wife, Rika.

The fabrics used for the patchwork front of the stocking are from pieces left over from various pieces of clothing made by Patti, her Mom and my Mom over the years, so it's truly a "family" Christmas Stocking. Many of these fabrics are over 50 years old.

I've condensed the process greatly, but suffice it to say that creating this stocking requires a lot of work and is a labor of love.

My wife put up with me and some music she didn't much like for 25 years.

A little unsolicited reminder for the rest of you: thank you for sharing your significant other's accomplishments here. You're right to marvel and brag. Just remember to tell her/him too. (I'm sure you all do, but it's my little soapbox issue.)

Thanks so much for your kind words, Valerie. You're a very special friend.

Justin, Rika and Kai returned from Japan last week. Kai traveled very well and will be flying to Alaska for Christmas with Mom & Dad.

Good advice, BeBop!
