Googling gizmo

Postby moldyfigg » July 25th, 2013, 9:23 am

I am trying to figure out why we would need a gadget to receive Google on our TV.

You mean this?

http://www.google.com/tv/

or this

http://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/de ... t/#netflix

If you mean the later. If you already have Netflix, or want to subscribe to Netflix....you get 3 months free....which depending on your plan cuts the cost of the device to 0, or $11. You can then watch everything on your TV...and that includes youtube videos.

As I understand it, it does have the ability to put internet content on your TV but that it apparently doesn't work too good right now. Currently, I have to hook a hdmi cord from my laptop to my TV to do that so being able to accomplish that with just a dongle would be really cool.
So, to me, what this hints at is that we may be close to a time where we can get rid of our pc/laptops with a $35 gadget that you can put in your pocket and take it wherever you want to go.

It actually seems like a pretty cool little gadget if it works, and at $35 it's worth trying.
