I feel much better too. So much that I'm going to sing Tonight's The Night by Rod Stewart. No wait we're still waiting for Enforcer.

I heard that the ENFORCER was not satisfied that posting under an alias was enough to protect his real identity and that he now plans to post with an alias AND in drag. He'll be back full time when he finds the right pair of pumps.

Let's just say that things will never be allowed to reach Goodspeakian levels here. Which is why our good friends Tim and Alex are not welcome here.
You two can continue to hash it out, but I also hope you end up working things out.
And to be clear, I also removed my post because I was responding as though what Valerie said was a joke. I didn't realize you two had issues between you.
My apologies.
Carry on...
I didn't realize we had issues either. It seems that we may have exchanged negative words in the past on a just a couple of occasions over MANY years, but I don't recall any specifics. I thought we basically had no relationship, which is why I didn't take it as a joke. If Valerie says that it was intended merely a joke and not an unprovoked insult, I will apologize and delete my responses.

Being the all-forgiving, generous, warm-hearted person that I am, I have avoided carrying over petty battles. F'r chrissakes, I even joined Scott's site.

For the life of me I'm still trying to figure out why my friend Clint has such a hard-on for Scott but he gives a low-life like D'Imperio a pass.

Some simple guidelines:
Please think before you post.
Since we have no ignore buttons on our new board, use your brain as an "ignore button".
Send a poster a PM, if necessary, to let them know how you feel, rather than get into a back-and-forth spat on a thread.
Thanks.

I think these are generally good, common sense guidelines.
However, I think it's a little Pollyana-ish to think that someone who is personally attacked or insulted publicly will find satisfaction responding privately. If someone takes an unprovoked shot at me publicly, I know I will feel a need to respond publicly. I'm not suggesting that this suggests that I'm a fully evolved person, but who here is?
That said, I think anything in response to what I write or what position I have taken is fair, regardless of how much I disagree. For this reason, I think another good general guideline to try to follow is that one should direct criticisms at what is being written, and not at the writer.
For instance, If someone writes "Women are all terrible drivers" it is better to respond that "this conclusion seems quite incorrect based on my experience, and I wonder if it is largely the the result of old, worn out stereotypes" than "You are a male chauvinist pig moron"

There are all kinds of sainthoods. But to be a fucking saint you have to have performed a documented miracle involving a gerbil.

FWIW, it appears that someone other than I took down my post in question. Which is fine. I noticed this when I was gonna take it down myself in view of Ron letting me know that the post I was responding to was gone.

I sent an e-mail to our friend, Squaredancecalling Steve, and got a response this morning. He thanked me for the invitation, but said that he was having (to paraphrase) a wonderful but hectic summer, so couldn't participate until (possibly) this fall.

Did someone recently bolt from here? [name can be withheld to protect the innocent]
I was seeing 78 members when Dennis Gonzalez came aboard, and now 77.

Just curious, Scott, did he post under the same name on JC a few years ago? Btw, I pmed the name to thelil just in case you didn't. I'm not sure why we're being secretive, though.
