yeah, I think this whole group is hip. Most of the crew is also in D'Angelo's band. I was watching a D'Angelo clip when I saw that the guitar player was Isaiah Sharkey. since then i am listening to drumhedz clips.

I assume GG knows this, but I only recently learned that Maya Rudolph (SNL, Bridesmaids) is Minny Ripperton's daughter.

Need to start getting used to doing this again.
Thomas Chapin - Never Let Me Go
A 3 cd set of live performances by Chapin that is just marvelous. It also includes his very last live performance. I could be wrong (mostly like I am haha) but it also includes what I think is the only cover of Charlie Parker's Red Cross.

I assume GG knows this, but I only recently learned that Maya Rudolph (SNL, Bridesmaids) is Minny Ripperton's daughter.
Indeed, I have known that for a number of years, and it doesn't surprise me as Maya is so talented.

My brother Dick (Horn) plays keyboards on this fusion tune. The sax player and writer of the tune is Marty Krystall. Dunno who else is on it.

Surely not all of a sudden. Less than half of a sudden at best.

If you crank up the volume on Minnie's "Lovin' You" you will hear her say Maya at the end.

Re: What Are You Listening To?
Ronny Jordan, The Quiet Revolution, kind of a jazz/hip hop fusion outing, but a lot of solid musicianship, especially from Mr. Jordan himself.
