Donations/Tip Jar
Quite a few members have suggested that we establish a means by which they could donate funds to contribute to the operating costs of Jazztalk.net. We listened, and now have such a secure and simple means to do just that ... via PayPal. Our costs are not great, but if you feel like having a vested interest beyond your words, click on the Donate/Tip Jar button in the upper left corner of our Home Page.
We promise to never have a fund drive or send you e-mails asking for contributions.
The two costs, beyond the time that Justin & I put in, along with the efforts of Moderator bluenoter/Rita, are the monthly charges ($9.95) for hosting the site and an annual charge ($15.00) for the domain name. I've already paid the domain name fee for a year, and the monthly hosting charge is on a credit card of mine on a recurring basis to avoid shutdowns of the board.
The overhead is pretty minimal, but any contribution you are willing to make will make it straight back into the operation of the site.
Thanks for your support!
Ron Thorne

Re: Donations/Tip Jar
Thanks again for your contributions! We really appreciate your support.
Since we won't ever have a "fund drive", or any such annoyance, any time is a fine time to make a donation. One member asked if there was a preferred donation amount, and the simple answer is "no". However, for simplicity sake, we think it's natural to think in terms of $5.00 increments. Your contribution will be anonymous, greatly appreciated, and used solely to maintain this forum.
We use PayPal because it offers a reliable, secure service. Please let us know if you have any questions about using the Tip Jar.
Thank you.

Glad that you did, Doug! Thanks.Jazzooo wrote:Never saw this till now. Thanks guys!
You're welcome.
We weren't trying to hide it, we just didn't want the icon to be "in your face" or be unnecessarily large.

Re: Donations/Tip Jar
As the result of our recent software upgrade, the icon and location of our Donation button have changed. Here is what the new icon looks like in a greatly enlarged view, followed (below) by the icon and Donate button in context in the upper left hand part of our Home Page, just to the right of New posts.
When you click on Donate, you will be taken to a secure PayPal link.
We appreciate your kind donations to Jazztalk.net.
