Re: Kenny Drew Jr. RIP
What a shame! Kenny was only 56 years of age.
Here's an indication of the formidable talent he possessed.
"Kenny Drew Jr. during a clinic (9/25/08) at St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, FL. Kenny
plays "Sophisticated Lady" using only his left hand to demonstrate just how much a left hand
can do. The audience (consisting of a diverse group of musicians, including SPC music majors)
was amazed."

Re: Kenny Drew Jr. RIP
Then there is this sublime piece with a trio consisting of George Mraz (bass) and Tony Jefferson (drums).

Re: Kenny Drew Jr. RIP
I always "saw" and felt his "troubled soul". I wouldn't be surprised at all if it had something to do with his leaving us. and maybe the date wasn't a coincidence. someone heard him play with great gusto a very short time ago. the thought just makes things sadder.
