The festival organizers, in the FAQs, wrote:French Quarter Festival is dedicated to supporting the local music community. The festival only schedules local musicians.
No matter what style of music you enjoy, you’ll find it at French Quarter Festival. . . . every genre from gospel to jazz,
from funk to classical, from Cajun & Zydeco to brass band.
There will be so much jazz programming that the amount of nonjazz programming hardly seems to matter.
And what isn't jazz is likely to be truly (New Orleans / Louisiana) "heritage."
