Some neat reviews of a show with Coltrane quartet w Eric Dolphy, Cecil Taylor unit and Art Blakey as well as a Monk.

I tried to attach this as an image, but it wouldn't work since the original document was a pdf. The source of this was Joe Giardullo's Soprano Planet facebook page.

pig pen---
The .pdf link is opening a blank document in Adobe Reader---at least for me. I found the Facebook source, and I'll post the reviews as an image or images (with legible-size type) as soon as I can; I don't have time right now.

Damn, I wondered if that would work. I see it fine, but I'm registered on the site where it resides. I will try to find a way to upload here since it is entertaining reading (at least to me anyway).
Thanks!

(YVW. I went ahead with my efforts.)
Okay! On Facebook, even nonmembers can go to

Click on "Next" (or "Previous") to move from image to image. There are three images in all (but they show four columns of type). To make the type larger, zoom in with your browser (if you can). Or click the double-headed diagonal arrow to "open photo viewer."
Or . . .
We've got this version---and believe me, I see all its flaws, but it's the best I can do [edit the next day: what you're seeing now is the "improved" image; I couldn't stand it]:

YVW, pig pen. Thank you for showing us the reviews! What I didn't do is Search for them elsewhere online. Did you? If not, maybe someone else will.

Re: Live jazz reviews - from 1964 DownBeat
(Hope no one minds that I made this a new post even though I posted the previous one.)
Having managed to make some of the type a little straighter, align the columns better, etc., I replaced the image of the DownBeat reviews that I posted in #4---not that the difference is very likely to be apparent.
Pig pen, those reviews were a fantastic find! Thanks again for showing them to us. I especially loved reading the first review---by the late LeRoi Jones, as his name was then. And geez Louise, look at the personnel for the triple-bill concert that he reviewed:

That FB page is visible to nonmembers. Here's a link to it---

---and I saw that he's posted other cool historical artifacts and some great photos of musicians (along with the many photos of soprano sax parts). I for one plan to see if there are other things that are worth posting in whatever threads on JT, although I can't imagine finding something that, in my eyes, would top the reviews you posted. Thanks yet again!

Re: Live jazz reviews - from 1964 DownBeat
In brief searches, I haven't seen the reviews elsewhere online or found out the dates of the concerts, but I learned that the reviews come from the February 27, 1964 issue of DownBeat. Millionmagazines is selling one (on several websites) for $30---a slight increase from the cover price of 35¢. (I don't know whether a hard copy is available from DownBeat.) Here's the cover:

Here's another musician who has posted a bunch of old magazine reviews, some real classics:
