Jazz Corner Posters MIA

We're very happy that a nice group of former JC posters have joined us for his inaugural "flight". However, there are a number of friends who may not be hip to this new endeavor. So, if you have their e-mail address, phone number or other means to contact them, please extend an invitation to join us here.

These are a few names which have been going through my head, but I know I'll think of many others, too.

Squaredancecalling Steve
Steve Reynolds
Ellery Eskelin
Michael Schaumann
Kevin Bresnahan

I'm guessing 3 of the other 5 will join.

I actually just read a reply from SqD Steve to an email I sent him yesterday. In short, he's fine but busy with real life stuff. He decided to lay off JC before he went on vacation. No bad feelings, just normal forum burn-out.

I told him about this joint and the FB group, and I hope he changes his mind at some point.

Sorry, Douglas, somehow I missed you.

I sent an invitation to Ellery Eskelin.

I also sent one to David Gitin.

Sure would like to see the presence of "The Preacher" here.

Thanks for the update on SqDCSteve, Sergio.

Onward and upward.

My pleasure, David. Thanks so much for joining us.

What do you think about having a thread called The Writer's Corner or some such? It wouldn't have to be jazz-related content, but if it were, that would be a plus.

He posted about a festival in Berlin. That's gone too, strangely.

No, but I'm hoping he'll show up. Bibianne has sent him a note.

He's a regular on the sports threads at IHM.

Scott, have you sent any invitations to the "regulars" at IHM who were at JC in recent times? I'm not registered there and have no immediate plans of joining.

Ron, outside of Naggz there aren't any. All the JC refugees from IHM left a long time ago and I can guarantee you they have no intention of ever rejoining the community. The only ones that possibly would are FB friends with me and are aware of this site.

Oh, OK. I realize that some would never join here, but thought a couple might, since I've seen some activity on the JC page on FB. For instance, I thought that bostontricky was semi-active at JC.

Here's hoping that Larry stops by and pays a visit. His contributions would certainly be welcome.

C'est la vie.

Could somebody answer me this? I was on Joanne's facebook account a while back. I decided to search for Brian Olewnick. His facebook profile states that he lives in Paris. WTF? Did he move from Jersey City to the City of Light? I miss him. I miss my man Sisco too. Sorry that they don't want anything to do with the people in their old neighborhood. Oh well, as Ron said, C'est la vie.

I don't know what you two have against each other. It's sad really because there is no doubt in my mind that if you two met in person you would get on famously. You're both good guys but unfortunately neither one of you can see that in the other.

I inadvertedly ran into Ollie this morning(on the net). Was checking the wiki entry on the AEOC's Alternate Express and red this

"Reception[edit]

The Allmusic review by Brian Olewnick describes the album as "only occasionally rising to the level of excitement and inspiration evinced on recordings from the late '60s and early '70s". But Allmusic reviews in general only occasionally rise to the level of imparting any insight or understanding of the music being reviewed. The interested listener is encouraged to use her or his own ears and allow the music to speak for itself. [2]"
