It's a desert island kind of query and some of you are straying into box set territory.
Sushi is an interesting question. I could go for that too.
I said pizza yet a lot of things can go on top.
We may need a mediator.
I'm surprised no one said 'bread'.
If we're talking about a Desert Island....then, fish/sushi it is.

I usually cook them in chicken stock and add carrots. The secret is not to cook them until they're mushy but just to the point of al dente.
I like lentils, but I can only remember one way my mom prepared them when I was a kid, and that's pretty much the only way I eat them to this day at home. As a soup (I think with a little garlic) and topped with sour cream and sliced banana.

Oh yeah, Sergio, lentils make killer soup.

Reading Foreign Policy this morning. Not the place I expected to read about lentils, but there they were.

Re: If you could eat only one food.
This thread has me vexed. I can't think of any single food I would want to eat forever.
If I HAD to choose one, it would be linguini with seafood (zuppa da pesce over linguini).
Mussels, shrimp, scallops, clams, and red snapper in a pomodoro sauce, served over lunguini.
And yes I would break the rule and grate fresh locatelli romano over it, generously.
And a nice Chianti.

I get soybeans as my one food and you get that? No fair!
Surely not all of a sudden. Less than half of a sudden at best.
