Miles Davis w Wayne Shorter at Village Vanguard (just after Miles had been sidelined for a while with illness; this was his 'return' gig)

Louis Armstrong in Buffalo 1960 or 1961 (at times in these years he was great; this night he just soared)

Dave Douglas with Chris Potter, Monterey Jazz Festival (can't recall the year, but they were extraordinary together)

I have only 2, since these were so clearly far ahead of everything else by far.

Freddie Hubbard [70's and 80's] and Woody Shaw late 70's
