Well, not exactly a jazz video, drummers, please line up and explain this one-handed warmup technique to me. I first saw and heard Tony at Berklee from a distance of about 10 feet in 1962. Scary.

One handed technique? It's two-handed playing throughout, you just can't see the right hand very often.

1. I don't think a two-handed technique is provable, Jazzooo/Doug.

2. Looks like Tony is using a Moeller Method.

3. Note a lack of movement in the upper arm/body on Williams' right side.

4. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but am hip to this look and Tony's prowess and skills.

5. I could be wrong.

Good catch. I see some high sticking now, Jazzooo. Even that technique is amazing!

That music stand hides a lot of things.

It's amazing playing period, even if he had three limbs--which at some point it sounds like.

Here's a new clip from my Latin jazz experiment, MEDIA NOCHE. It starts with me on timbales but hidden by the djembe player, then I move to the piano. Victor Monterrubio on djembe and timbales, Mario Alberto Torres on congas, Ruben Olvera on bass. The song is CATA by Andrew Hill. I'm happy with my piano solo and the conga solo afterwards is great.

I really enjoyed this new clip, Jazzooo. I did not like the snare drum tuning at all, however.

A bit repetitive in places, but strong, nonetheless. Nice.

The acoustics in this audience recorded video do not do a great job of letting the bass shine through, but the Jeremy Pelt Quintet still sound good here.
