Johnny Hodges is considered to be one of the greatest saxophonists of all time, arguably the most distinct voice on the alto saxophone. Whether fulfilling his iconic role in the Duke Ellington Orchestra, leading his own band, or doing impromptu, small-group studio sessions, Johnny Hodges consistently delivered lyrical, soulful, virtuosic performances. Join programmer Graham Jacobson for an exploration of Hodges' career.
