New Release: Charlie Haden & Gonzalo Rubalcaba’s “Tokyo Adagio”
Late bassist and pianist were recorded together in 2005

Impulse!/Universal Music Classics will release Tokyo Adagio, an album featuring the late bassist Charlie Haden with pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, on Aug. 7. The album was recorded over several evenings at the Blue Note Tokyo in 2005. Haden passed away in July 2014.
The pair have been heard previously together on The Montreal Tapes (1998), Nocturne (2001) and Land of the Sun (2004).
