Re: Robin Williams RIP
I loved Robin Williams and I mean no disrespect but I'm not at all surprised at this sad news. Watching him over the years one couldn't help but come to the conclusion that he suffered from manic/depression, now known as bipolar disorder. RIP, Robin. You were one funny guy. One of my favorite Robin ...

Today I quaffed a Samuel Adams Rebel IPA. Marketed as a "west coast style IPA". It comes in at a respectable 6.5% ABV.

Re: Food For Thought
Decided to drive to Stamford, Ct. today for an early dinner. Aaron Sanchez opened a new joint within the Harbor Pointe development in Stamford. Nice space overlooking the harbor. The menu attempted to offer classic dishes with a Mexican twist. Sad to say, in my opinion, it didn't work. We started ou...

I voted for the first option "great" even though the experience wasn't necessarily great but it was much better than "so-so". So, somewhere in between those two options.

Re: Beer — "all things malty and frothy"
Still no image, however, in the meantime I managed to down two brews after my Sunday afternoon motorcycle ride. First up was a Long Trail Ale from Vermont. It's described as an amber ale modeled after the "albiers" of Dusseldorf, Germany. After that I had a Harpoon Black IPA, another Vermo...

Grillin' and chillin' on a Sunday evening. First up was some small eggplants sliced, coated with evoo, salted, peppered and set on the hot grill. Next came the hanger steaks that were marinated in a mixture of quacamole seasoning as well as evoo, lemon juice, vermouth, mustard and s&p. I seared ...

Actually, I've been able to view most if not all of your posted images in the past. This particular post, no. I'm pretty sure it's a fault on my end. Sometimes when I can't see an image it eventually reveals itself in a matter of hours or even days. Go figure.

Re: Beer — "all things malty and frothy"
Damn, Ron. I can't see an image. All I see is a little magnifying glass with a plus sign in the middle. When I click on it I get a blank screen with two magnifying glasses, one with a plus sign and the other with a minus sign. It's probably my android tab that's at fault. Same thing on my phone. Bas...

Had a nice beer last night at dinner called Mama's Little Yella Pils from Oskar Blues Brewery in Colorado. The beer came in a can. It's a Czech style pilsner that has an abv of 5.3%. It would make a good session beer for sure. Here's a description of the beer from the Oskar Blues Brewery website. &q...

Last night for date night Whitey and I went to a really nice place in Westport, Ct., Post 154. The space was built out from a former Post Office. While the owners left the outside virtually untouched in order to keep the historical aspects of the building, the inside was more or less gutted and turn...

Re: More Mario: M. Pavone Nonet Connecticut tour | Summer 20
Full house last night at Cafe Nine. Never been there before. Small but nice joint. The only issue I had was their small dark stage that more or less hid the musicians that were not in the front line, mainly because of poor lighting. The stage could barely contain the nine piece band. Good acoustics,...

Last night before heading out to listen to some music Joanne and I stopped at Miso, a sushi joint in New Haven, for a bite. Whitey started with a seafood soup and I got a bowl of miso. The mains were a California roll for Joanne and a Sushi Deluxe for me which consisted of 10 pieces of shashimi and ...

Had a couple of beers last night at Cafe Nine in New Haven while enjoying Mario Pavone's Street Songs/ The Accordion Project. The first brew I had was a Sea Hag IPA from Woodbridge Brewing Co. out of Woodbridge, Ct. The glass I had was a draught as opposed to the can. The abv was a respectable 6.2%....

Well, one of the reasons we'll be in Palm Springs is because we have to be in Las Vegas on August 16th for a family wedding (nephew). So instead of flying in and out, I talked Joanne into driving west the day after the wedding to visit an old Army buddy who lives in Mountain Center, just west of Pal...

Well, Whitey (Joanne) and I will be hanging out in Palm Springs and the San Jacinto mountains in August. Unfortunately that's still a couple of hours from Tustin. But...you never know.
