shooting rampage in my old home town

I guess we're starting to catch the American "psycho with guns" syndrome up here. Three police officers dead and two injured and it sounds like it could have been worse since he walked right by non-police individuals and waited for the police to show up before he started shooting. http://n...

Ballard and Grenadier are more up front in the mix than in the previous two releases that I have from this trio so that was...

Re: What TV shows are you watching?

We just finished watching season one of the Americans. Thoroughly enjoyed it, surprisingly well cast since I never would have guessed that Felicity could be so badass. We then watched the first season of The Tudors, a well-done CBC production.

Re: Jazz Videos

Well, to say that Hans Groiner's approach to Monk is "original" would be an understatement. Even Hans has difficulty maintaining a straight face at times. He's a breath of fresh air, however. I thought the funniest thing about the video was the comments on youtube where people were blasti...

Re: Meet Dennis Gonzalez

Hey Dennis!! Great to see you around here.

I was just thinking of you this morning while I was exercising with my iPod on random play and Scape Grace came on. I'm finding myself drawn to the duo format for improvised music lately and this was an especially nice example of that.

Any new releases?

Funny auto-corrections

I had a message from someone and they meant to type "passes in" and the software corrected it to "passé sin".

Maybe I'm just tired, but that struck me as hilarious.

For those of you annoyed by your weather, you can be annoyed by this message too: I'm in Honolulu for a month. My annoyance is that the three weeks I've been here already I've averaged 107 work hours a week on contract (no overtime). I've only been in three buildings: hotel, office, Don Quijote gro...

Re: What TV shows are you watching?

We just finished watching enlightened. I hadn't heard of it before since we don't get HBO but my wife picked up the first season based on an Amazon recommendation and it was a lot of fun. A bit twisted and dark in places, I enjoyed it.

Re: 75 pounds down ...

Do you guys find rowing tough on the neck? Maybe I hunch my shoulders, though I try not to, but I often get (mild) cervical strains from rowing. (I have a Neptune.) No, I actually find rowing quite good for keeping my neck and shoulders feeling "loose". I work a lot at a desk and I find i...

Re: 75 pounds down ...

Footballs are doing better, thanks! Claude, yea, I do have a Concept2 Rower, and I just put in a 25min. 5K on it. It's not too hard on my feet, as long as I can flex them without pain. You still using yours? Or do you row at the gym? Yup, I still row most days. I'm trying to go easy on myself latel...
