Re: We're an older crowd here I do believe

Weirdly, placebos don't work on psychosomatic symptoms. I've done some double visually impaired experiments to determine this.

Re: Any of you guys hear of this?

Does anybody get this? I get it. It's Pete C party pooping when he doesn't understand a joke thread someone starts. I've seen it often. It often occurs in situations in which the joke involves someone pretending to be dumb and making statements that aren't true. It seems to happen just as often whe...

Re: What Movies Are You Watching? Part 1

Monte, I'm disappointed but different strokes. I thought the biggest flaw of I, Frankenstein wasn't the incomprehensible plot, but the fact that the movie was basically without humor. Lots of missed opportunities to not take itself too seriously. You mean like pronouncing it Fronk en stheen? :silly:

Agreed. I know I've had a lot of success using Walto's SSN and credit card numbers everywhere on the internet.

Bravo!

I'm down from about 220 (mid-August) to around 190 myself. I've really changed my eating habits and have been working out 5 days a week. Seeing results has definitely made it easier to not constantly think that aging ONLY means inevitable deterioration.

Re: And the site, she is dead.

Shit, I don't have a pot to piss in, but I pay $200 a year on underage inter-species hookers (just to talk) and I consider that a bargain.

I hope that helps.

Re: What Movies Are You Watching? Part 1

Continuing my trek through the Woody Allen movies I've missed, I watched Hollywood Ending yesterday. It's a screwball comedy in which Allen plays a neurotic movie director (!) who's down on his luck. His ex-wife (Tia Leone) is now a producer and gets him a nice gig, but ...

Just finishing Tune In by Mark Lewisohn, volume 1 of a planned 3 part bio of the Beatles The first volume is close to 1000 pages I think (I have a kindle version, so not sure what it is in real book form) and it only goes through 1962!!! Amazingly detailed and researched AND a fun read. 5 Montes. M...

Re: And the site, she is dead.

I find it funny to hear people talk about Facebook as it it's a single consistent experience. Like this board or any other forum, the quality and type of experience depends on who the participants are and what they talk about. I have something like 75 FB friends (NOT on my steve(thelil) FB page) who...

When he first came to JC, Blue Train/Louis Satchmo idolized me and sent me daily fan mail. He said that he could tell how widely respected Jesus Marion Joseph (RIP), Lenny and I were and said I was kind of a father figure/role model> In these PMs he emphasized that he was a student of JC and its pos...

I liked it too, but a lot more during the first 2/3 when it was mostly a parody of the actors' public images and less after it became a sic-fi adventure.
