Re: 60 Years in Alaska!

yes,that seems quite a trip!
i wish you to spend many years more in that nice corner of the world.
and by the way, what was the soundtrack of this trip?
i hope the car had a radio and a bit of oscar peterson or the young brat, back then, miles davis, would be ideal for me.

jimmy, you make life such nicer with those pizza photos!
not just yum,as bluenoter commented,but ay,caramba,too!
good that you also give some meatless options for us, the vegetarians.
maybe one of the attractions of the big apple is the pizza places,it seems!

Re: What are you reading?

i enjoy postwar-a history of europe since 1945 written by the unfortunately gone early british historian tony judt.
his analysis is deep and at a big amount fair to all the participants in that huge, confused and often bitter salad which the european countries form.

steve already mentioned barney miller which was one of my favorites-i also liked a lot the theme from hill street blues.bonanza is obviously a good choice and it also came to my mind one from the british comedy of the early 80s i think-only fools and horses.

i started <a long long way> by sebastian barry, about the ww1 and the simultaneous fight for freedom in their land for irish soldiers and civilians.
i'm still in page 40 but it's almost certain it will satisfy me,i like the writer's style a lot.

i'm vegetarian for the last 6 years,no problem with health so far,not a faintest memory in my mind from the carnivore period 8-) ,but i haven't stop enjoying beer-it certainly fits perfect with some meat-containing food, but it's also great by itself or with chili chips, nuts etc.
