Re: MLB 2013

...........Every batted ball sounds so loud, from foul tips to well struck hits...whatever the heck they're doing it's so fake sounding or over enhanced as to be really annoying. One thing Fox gets right is on-field sound. I can't wait for the time when sports broadcasts are available without comme...

Re: Food For Thought

A true jazz maestro! That's how I cook Jimmy. I still remember asking my mom "what's for dinner?" and she would reply "an experiment". Mom could cook.

Re: Can you drive a manual transmission?

I learned to drive in the car that brought me to Alaska from Florida, a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air with an automatic transmission. I learned to drive a manual transmission when I bought my first car, a 1961 Hillman Minx with a 4-speed on-the-column shifter. There was so much linkage that it was rubbery...

Re: MLB 2013

Great pitchers duel in Oakland yesterday.

The Moneyball style almost bit the A's when Reddick popped out on a bunt attempt with none out and 2 on in the 5th.

Re: What TV shows are you watching?

Entirely satisfying finale. The writers of Dexter can only look and weep. It is really fucking hard to end a series well. Especially one like this. The anticipation was through the roof and it still managed to be satisfying. Agreed. Yet the writers seemed to make the most logical choices for each c...

Never heard of it. Thanks for the tip.

Another they play on TSN up here is Catching Hell, mainly about scapegoating, Bill Buckner and that guy from the Cub's game who cursed them for another 100 years. Bartman?

If this is just a Met commiseration thread I'm terribly sorry for posting non Met info. Manny Machado went down hard at first today in St. Petes. I'm still watching my lowly Jays get beat every day. I'm pulling for Oakland with their shit filled stadium and consistent playoff appearances. Feel free...

Re: 10 Genius George Carlin Jokes

Yeah, but Alan, he got pretty bad towards the end. Do you not agree? His last few specials were mostly just an angry old man ranting. Hey, I love my boy. But even I cringed quite a bit watching his last few. There were moments, but they were few and far between. I really think he peaked in the 80's...
