Re: Any crafters?
I'm a widower to yarn, myself. Carm took up knitting a few years ago. She's always been crafty, the minx, making homemade soap and whatnot. But she didn't know beans about knitting, say, four years ago. Now she's great at it. She knit me a Manchester United scarf (granted, it's long enough to wrap a...

Re: Yee-Haw!!! Any fans of Country and Western music?
I'm a moldy country fig, too. Gimme some Hank or Porter or Johnny Cash. Of course, in my area (couple miles up from the on-ramp to the highway to the foothills of the front porch of darkest Appalachia), real "old" country is very fricking old indeed. Start with a fiddle and a hymn book. Bl...

And then, of course, there is the Jesuit history in Paraguay. Don't listen to Voltaire on this subject, for he is a cunt (Scott, can we say that on this board?). Finally, there is the Paraguay national soccer team. They are going to shock us all at the World Cup in Brazil next summer, I can feel it....

The thought of Sonic Youth is painful without thinking of them being indebted to others. That's depressing. I like the BBs okay.

Re: What TV shows are you watching?
Plausibility is certainly not one of its merits. I think its all about the mood, style, and acting. I don't even care very much about the plots, but I do enjoy the interactions that Danish guy has with everyone else. Yeah, he played Lector well enough that you forget that another actor owns the rol...

Never the fans. No, it was the 30-min vacuum cleaner solo by the drummer. Seemed like 30-mins, I was high.

Re: What TV shows are you watching?
I liked it too. I'm a fan of that Danish actor. Very surprising to me that CBS would produce such a gorefest. Yeah, the actor whose name everyone looks up. He's great. The guy who played Will Graham was excellent, too, in my opinion. Of course, the show was wildly implausible in at least one regard...

I don't watch a lot of series TV, but I did watch the recent HANNIBAL thingy and thought it was pretty good. Elaborate and gory, but good.

I saw all the bands that I wanted to see (New Order, The Cure, the Pixies (twice), Morrissey (missed The Smiths), Lloyd Cole, Nirvana) and retired from what they were still calling rock in the early 90s after a violent reaction to paying to see Phish.

Thanks for posting that, Uli. How did that not go in? I don't follow Twitter, but of course I hear a lot of tweets get re-hashed in the media. I would follow Joey Barton for shits and giggles. Rio Ferdinand also seems prominent. For soccer news and commentary, I chiefly read the Yahoo Euro Sport iPh...

Soccer/Football 2013-2014 Season Hey soccer fans. I see Uli is a member here, so at least there are two of us. Hopefully more will come. http://www.uncarved.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/banshees.jpg Nice punk/post-punk festival in London 1987. Supporting acts were Wire, The Fall, Psychic TV and Gaye Bykers On Acid. Re: What Movies Are You Watching? Part 1
I saw MAN OF STEEL this weekend and as the opening credits rolled, I reflected that there has never been a good Superman movie made and I didn't hold out hope for this one. It was better than I thought it would be, and I'd class it as on the same level as the first or second Christopher Reeve movies...
