At the moment, Mingus. I'd been in a no music lull, but heard a phrase walking down the street, stopped in my tracks and said "Moanin" and when I got home the dam was broken.

Tom if it is not too late, stuff your turkey with a duck stuffed with a chicken. Iirc Clint did that once and the image has never left me. For wine a peppery st joseph usually complements poultry quite well. Every thing else makes my mouth water.

Although not really in the same spirit, the Banlieues bleues festival round Paris was probably my first festival, where in the good hands of John L my horizons were exploded right open. Seeing Cecil Taylor for the first time was a highlight, then ICP etc. The programming was excellent.

Can't remember the albums, but in the memorable mix was borodin's polovtsian dances, lots of nat king cole and allan sherman
