Re: What Movies Are You Watching? Part 1

I admit that Joss Whedon (Dollhouse excepted) can do little wrong for me. Funny because I can totally understand why someone would hate Dollhouse and I was ready to abandon ship so many times but I stuck with it and ended up liking it quite a bit. Maybe it was sort of a guilty pleasure but I ended ...

Thanks.

No problem. In paint, you can use the rectangular selection tool (the rectangle with the dotted lines) to choose any rectangular area you want and then hit the crop button and you're done.

Re: Avatar, and other garden variety, problems.

OH! So, if I crop it in Paint, then reduce it to 106x106 that'll do it? [I never thought of that.] Is that what you're going to do? If so, let me try first. Then, if I screw up, in those immortal words of Arnold What's-his-name, "I'll be back." Yes, cropping in paint works very well but t...

Let me give it a try, jazzbluescat. I'm thinking you won't mind if it's cropped first to focus on the bike more?

Glad to see the member list growing fast, including people who weren't really posting at JC.

I'm Lenny Hertzler (in real life and on Facebook). LennyH on Jazz Corner. I live in Wilmington, Delaware, which is pretty much part of the Philly Suburbs. Yes, Delaware is a state.

Re: What TV shows are you watching?

Thanks, stone. I hadn't even heard of that. I saw Gillian Anderson on some Today show clip or whatever not long ago and can't believe how good she looked. Middle age looks good on her.

Re: What Movies Are You Watching? Part 1

I saw Zero Dark Thirty last weekend and liked it, although pretty forgettable to me. The Master is in the queue, but it's half impossible to get my wife to sit down and watch a movie lately so no telling how long that DVD will sit. Speaking of Action movies, The Avengers is available on Netflix stre...

Re: Avatar, and other garden variety, problems.

Just bear with me, that's all I ask. Man, take your time. When you were taking about this site coming up and being pretty rough around the edges for a while this is not what I had in mind. Almost all the functionality is here and it looks terrific. Your effort is very much appreciated. I'll still f...

Re: Avatar, and other garden variety, problems.

There are free picture compression sites on the internets. Ask the Google. I had to reduce the size of my pic and used a free site for that.

Re: Does everyone like the look of the board better now?

One thing that's been irritating me for a while at JC was that the first unread post button was not working for me. It was taking me to the end of the thread sometimes instead of to the first unread. That along with the "view unread posts" is invaluable. Both are working fine here.

Re: Who I is.

I don't mind FB, but I find it an utterly unsuitable framework for conducting actual discussions.... I feel the same way. The threads there are a point in time and the format in general is not conducive to ongoing discussions over months or years. Some of the most successful threads at JC, to me, w...

Re: What TV shows are you watching?

The 'Mad Men' season finale was a stunning cap to a great season. Season 5 had more of a short story feel in which each episode almost stood on its own. Season 6 was the story of a man's spiritual and psychological free fall. Jon Hamm's performance was amazing. I can't wait to watch it on DVD. I'm ...

Re: What TV shows are you watching?

I've been watching Fringe on Netflix. Well into the second season, I have no idea why I'm still watching this show. Maybe because I think the lead actress is cute. Each show is pretty much the same as the last.

What TV Shows Are You Watching?

I have to admit that I'm have a bit of separation anxiety with Game of Thrones. Had a lot of fun with this season. Also loved the fact that that they ended this season with Calisi, like they did with season 1. She marches on...

Geez, for a BBS that's supposed to start off very slowly this looks an awfully lot like the BBS we know and love. If you've got a new posts button then that's pretty killer. Nice work, Scott. Thanks!

This totally isn't the first boner thread...

That would be so wrong. I don't have one currently and to start out a new board with a boner thread would be just plain silly, so...I'm going to start some non-boner threads very soon.
