I was at the Cornelia St. Cafe' show on Saturday, the Mario Pavone Pulse Quartet with his son Michael Pavone on Guitar, Ellery Eskelin and Gerald Cleaver. It was very good.

Of the classics, I listen to Ellington the most with Monk probably in 2nd place with Mingus. For musicians currently playing, it would have to be Bill Frisell.
