Simply glorious.

Since it was shot in 720p HD, you can really enjoy the video as much as the audio.

Re: Jazz Corner Posters MIA

I sent an e-mail to our friend, Squaredancecalling Steve, and got a response this morning. He thanked me for the invitation, but said that he was having (to paraphrase) a wonderful but hectic summer, so couldn't participate until (possibly) this fall.

Re: Big Bands

Thanks a million for that clip, Joe! Man, I wasn't hip to this project, and it's worthy of our attention, without question.

What a lineup of flutists, and what a sterling rhythm section. The arrangers are 1st rate, too. 8-)

I may join you and pick this up myself.

Sorry for the hiccup, folks. Our server was doing some maintenance, which is why Jazztalk wasn't visible for a while.

Hopefully, things will be smooth from here on out.

Re: Only in Alaska!

Some of you already know that we've had record-breaking temps this summer all over Alaska. Anchorage just broke another record, enjoying 38 days where the temp was over 70°, including the last 14 consecutive days. Don't laugh at this, please. It's a big deal, especially after last summer's laughable...

Re: Summer Vacations

Another couple of shots from my Summer Mini-Vacation in our front yard. We've broken records for the most consecutive days above 70° ... 38, with 14 consecutive days above that mark. It's been a fantastic summer, but we have some clouds predicted to roll in this weekend and wipe the smile off our fa...

I'm with you on both Blanchard and Jarrett, Peter.

I had a chance to meet and speak with Terence a few years ago, and found him engaging, patient and totally approachable. It was a gas!

I'm still waiting for my chance to hear Keith in a live setting and monitor the grunt quotient. ;)

I didn't know it, but Guy Clark visited Alaska in 2003 and played at Alice's Chamgagne Palace in beautiful Homer, south of Anchorage on Kachemak Bay. The following video is from that October 2003 performance. There are more at YouTube.
