Image Resizing Functions Added

We have added functionality to automatically resize images as the page is displayed, to avoid disruptive visuals on smaller screens, and to allow the original image to be viewed at its original size via a zoom-in pop up. This might take a bit of adjustment to get just right, but please comment here ...

Re: Apple music player alternatives

I am running 8200 tracks currently on Foobar2000. No issues at all. It has a more rudimentary interface when compared to the slick iTunes presentation, but it just works once you have it customized for your own setup. I should also add it has a lot of plugins available for just about every audio for...

Re: Apple music player alternatives

Old thread, but new advice. To store music, I would recommend NAS with redundant drives, which has now become affordable. Western Digital has the EX2 (2 drives) and EX4 (4 drives) My Cloud devices available now. http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=1180 I have just ordered the 8TB version...

Re: Neil Young on MP3s—and other options

That is indeed an optimal setup. Because the iPod I use in my car has a noticeable design flaw due to its age—no support for gapless playback—I have to combine tracks that have zero gap between them, so I end up making one set of AAC files for the car iPod, and gapless MPC/OGG files (with ReplayGain...

Re: I'm A Grandfather Again!

Thanks for the additional info, Justin. It's a great name choice for many reasons. Gee, do you think that Kai can avoid being immersed in music? :music: Chopsticks can be a good substitute for little drumsticks. ;) I already gave him a quick rhythm listening exercise at the dinner table tonight, ta...

Re: Neil Young on MP3s—and other options

I have to say I agree with you Scott. A well-tuned high bitrate lossy format audio file will hold up to tight scrutiny. As mentioned in the Neil Young article, a MP3 encoded at 320kbps CBR will be scarcely different from the original lossless WAV, FLAC, ALAC, etc. That is the format used for most if...

Re: I'm A Grandfather Again!

We've added a character to Kai's spelling in Japanese to add some distinction which I suspect everyone here will appreciate. The two characters we are using are sea + sound. The character for sound is the first character in the Japanese word for music, and underscores my hope for the boy to...

There's nothing scheduled with the Trovesi octet at the moment, but just a few days ago Gianluigi recorded in Lugano together with Anat Fort's trio. In January we will also be recording a Trovesi project with the Accademia Bizantina and Stefano Molinari ... I will very much look forward to those! :...

Re: Cameras & Photography

For my daily runaround camera, I am making use of a Ricoh GR Digital IV. http://createway.com/images/shared/grd-iv.jpg It is very compact and discreet, with a 28 mm equivalent f1.9 prime lens, making it highly suitable for street photography, but also offering a very well thought through interface t...

Is anything upcoming from Gianluigi Trovesi, particularly the Gianluigi Trovesi Ottetto? I have been enjoying Fugace since it was released.

Any chance of adding courier new? (I used that for many years at JC.) Right now, I'm trying out replacements here. It may be that if you type in the name of the font you want, it will appear . That is true. You can just add the name of the font in, but I went ahead and made Courier New ...

Yeah, that was rolled out in iOS 6 on both the iPhone 4S and 5 as well as the 5G iPod Touch, but not any earlier models, as those iPhone/iPod models do not share the same iSight camera system shared by the 4S, 5 and 5G iPod Touch. You can select Panorama from the Options screen when using the camera...
