Re: MLB 2013
I think that Puig is trying too hard and is extremely frustrated. Yes, Dodger bats need to get busy ... and quickly! Their best two pitchers have gotten virtually no run support whatsoever. 19 scoreless innings!! Having Hanley Ramirez & Matt Kemp out of the lineup is a really big deal, to...

Re: Computer questions (etc.)
If he's having a disk boot failure he cannot access the control panel. Correct. This is far as things get when I try to boot up our desktop. http://my3place.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/diskbootfailure.gif Hopefully, Justin & I can discuss options later today or tomorrow.

Re: Computer questions (etc.)
Thanks very much, Scott. I'll keep you posted on any progress. Glad to know that there may be light at the end of the tunnel via this SATA to USB connector. That is, if files are intact and not corrupted, or worse. Justin is going to see what he can do (albeit long distance) by trying to access the ...

Re: Computer questions (etc.)
Yesterday, out of the blue, I received this scary message when booting up our HP desktop computer. DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER I'm using XP (SP3), and have not added any new software or hardware recently. Obviously, we can't afford to lose all of the data on this main compu...

By 1964 I believe they were Izusu Hillman Minx and previous versions came from Europe.
Great Britain. It was part of the Rootes Group who also produced the Sunbeam line, including the wonderful Alpine.

Re: Can you drive a manual transmission?
This is what our 1961 Hillman Minx looked like, though it's not our actual car. Very sedate. The interior was red leatherette. We traded it in on our 1967 Saab 96 V4, and received more in trade than I paid for it initially. :D Great little car! http://farm9.static.flickr.com/8288/7573256924_ab7f908c...

This should be quite an evening.
I was made aware of Karin Krog by our Norwegian friend Helge (Sand on JC), and have enjoyed several recordings as a result. Her versatility is pretty stunning.

Re: Can you drive a manual transmission?
I learned to drive in the car that brought me to Alaska from Florida, a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air with an automatic transmission. I learned to drive a manual transmission when I bought my first car, a 1961 Hillman Minx with a 4-speed on-the-column shifter. There was so much linkage that it was rubbery-...

Thanks, Marla.
I must get my copy of this book right away. Wish I had thought to send you some money and have Gary sign a copy for me while he was at Sculler's.
Sure wish Gary would bring his quartet to Anchorage.

Re: Mets Almost Make Playoffs!
David Price's performance the other night was damned near flawless.
I'm also very happy for the Pirates and their legion of fans.
Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow night in Atlanta. Should be interesting. Sure wish Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp were healthy, though.

I can't believe Pete gave you permission to post those pics of him. Same thing when Kelly took a pic of us along with ...
