Re: Favorite Standup Comics - Then and Now
My current favorite is probably Louis CK, but that may be a combination of his standup and his brilliant TV show.

Re: What Are You Drinking?
HA! My son makes me a "spicy V8" almost daily. Don't know how much Tobasco he puts in it, but it's got some serious zap. And I normally drink Tobasco like it's water. It turns out I was out of tabasco, so I used a little Tapatio. Not perfect but not bad. At least this makes a little more ...

Thelonious Monk - Monk's Music

I had a very hectic and emotional couple of days at work, and for some reason listening to Bean's solo on 'Ruby, My Dear' last night really hit me hard.

Re: How Long Has It Been Since You've Eaten a Big Mac
Their burgers have gotten truly awful the last few years. I had one some time in the last year and it went down like a ton of bricks. I don't know what changed. I mean, they were never great but that one was truly awful, extremely greasy, very heavy, and the patty was practically invisible. Here in...

Re: Non One-Hit-Wonders who never topped first LP
This is actually a question, not a statement. I've only heard 'Music from Big Pink' and 'The Band' by The Band. Did anything they released after that (not counting the soundtrack to The Last Waltz) compare to those two albums?

Lenny Kravitz. Let Love Rule was his best work by far. I'm not a fan. The only Kravitz song I remember liking 'It Ain't Over Til It's Over. It's a Curtis Mayfield ripoff, but it was a decent ripoff. Everything else I've heard from him - admittedly, only the stuff that gets played on radio and TV - ...

Re: What TV shows are you watching?
Season 4 was my favorite. I liked season 5 but am glad to hear that this season seems to have been better. It would take a rewatch for me to decide if I liked s6 or s5 more. My comments were more about the structure than the quality. One thing I've found with MM viewers is the lack of consensus ove...

Re: What TV shows are you watching?
The 'Mad Men' season finale was a stunning cap to a great season. Season 5 had more of a short story feel in which each episode almost stood on its own. Season 6 was the story of a man's spiritual and psychological free fall. Jon Hamm's performance was amazing.
