Peppercorn Meets Pete!
Thursday night was an auspicious occasion, a dinner event in southern California hosted by Pete Cherches, and Patti & I were among the invitees. It was a first meeting. Pete & I go back over 15 years but had never actually met before that evening. There was a quartet of former JCS and Jazz C...

Thanks, Scott. She's as smart as she is beautiful, too.

Here are a couple of snapshots which clearly show two reasons why Patti & I travel to California twice a year. These are our two youngest grandchildren, Reed, who just turned 9 (baseball cap), and Sophie, 3½. Both of our sons live in southern California. http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2871/988610...

Wow! Thanks for that first hand account, Tom. I'd have to read your review many more times to fully comprehend all of the complexities of these musical instruments, compositions and performance styles. The first concert featured a young German (Austrian?) percussionist, originally a drummer but who ...

Thanks for that overview, David. Since Gary has played such an integral part in my musical life, I need to get my copy. Anyone who hasn't heard Gary's debut album, Jazz Winds From A New Direction , should get this CD, pronto! It's a much less expensive Hank Garland compilation album. http://ecx.imag...

As simplistic as it is to say, either the music moves you or it doesn't, no matter the genre or sub-genre. That applies to musicians and non-musicians alike.

Patti & I enjoyed this wonderful spot last December on our way home from Hawaii. We were staying at the Inn at the Market on the same property, so it was a no-brainer to try. What a nice surprise, including the prices. I thought some of you may enjoy looking over their menu and make a note for ...

Meanwhile, this modest little "experiment" is inching its way toward 5000 posts, and is not and will not seek funding from its members.
