Re: Jazz Videos

Credit goes to Jazzwax.com but it's sooooo good I had to share. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlUGja8QoEE Relatively unknown Sonny Rollins performance reminiscent of his early 60s The Bridge days when he replaced piano with guitar. Τhis time a young Bobby Broom takes the place of Jim Hall but the ...

Re: Cameras & Photography

The resizing used by Flickr creates artifacts in the pictures. I apply export sharpening that changes based on the final size of the picture. I...

Re: Cameras & Photography

Ron, I set the short edge of these updated jazznet pics to 1,800 pixels. I would like to see your pics larger but...it's really a crap shot as to what's the best size to use for the web. It really depends on the end user's system. New monitors have a lot more resolution than the older systems, even ...

Re: Cameras & Photography

I went back, this time using the sigma DP2M. It's not where it needs to me, I need an even wider lens. http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2344/13019578774_3a74ca0a31_o.jpg It's a four image stitch. I need to get it down to two. There is a building at my back and trees up above so I can't stand back any f...

Summit Ave, Brookline MA. It's the house to the right of the overlook area. It's the shot less taken. :(

Re: Non-Music Videos

http://vimeo.com/87057348 This is cool. TV shows are getting more realistic. From Vincent Laforet's blog: HBO’s True Detective series by Director Cary Fukunaha and Australian cinematographer Adam Karapow may just be the most amazing I’ve ever seen in a television series… As the slogan goes: "I...

There wasn't enough room to take this picture correctly. This is a six shot panorama. Notice the distortion, it was the best I could do. I need a wider lens.
