I really do not know which I find more difficulty to understand, an attack of Mike Schwartz for expressing his opinion or the statement that "Electric is what fucked Miles Davis up."

Re: Shameless Self-Promotion
It's only a home recording (so far with 23 free listens on SoundCloud, which in my unambitious music career is the equivalent of a hitting the charts it's first day), but this IS the SHAMELESS Self-Promotion thread. It's a great Nick Lowe composition, performed fast a la Rockpile (rather than Nick'...

Re: What TV shows are you watching?
I haven't watched the Spacey House of Cards, but I've been meaning to watch the original which is also on Netflix. I saw the first episode, but was distracted so didn't get into it. I may try again. I haven't watched it in a while but it was/is monstrously good. Ian Richardson is a marvel. Even...

Uxbridge English Dictionary
Freely adapted from the game played in "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue." The idea is to provide new definitions for existing English words to, perhaps, reflect our changing times. For example: Lymph - to walk with a lisp. Countryside - to kill Piers Morgan (courtesy of Stephen Fry) Animate - t...

Re: What TV shows are you watching?
I also just started House of Cards. I don't care for Spacey's S.C. accent or the talking to the camera biz, but agree that it's otherwise excellent. It is an odd accent he affects ... seems to come and go in intensity. I'm starting to enjoy it. Talking to the camera is taken from the original serie...

Re: What TV shows are you watching?
Just started House of Cards. It is based on a wonderful UK book and series.
It has surely hit the ground running. Kevin Spacey is terrific in the Ian Richardson role. Robin Wright too ... fuck it, the entire cast is perfect.
