If I can make a suggestion:
How about an effort in general to post something related to jazz once [1X] per week.
I'd have to think that among this crowd we see an article or get some kind of news comes across our collective bows.

Happy B-Day! BTW, regarding membership outreach, AllAboutJazz has been down for a while now, and maybe it's for good this time. There were still a bunch of active posters there. I don't know how you can contact them--but if you can, I would! They are up & running again after a t...

Which jazz musician do you listen to the most frequently?
I don't think I have such a thing (borrowed the thread idea from 'O').
Do you?
I go on binges every once in a while on a whim, or when a great musician dies.

Re: Outstanding piano trios
Reminded by Pete's mentioning a particular show was the best piano trio he's ever seen; I saw Mulgrew Miller with Ray Drummond, bass and Billy Higgins, drums the greatest I've ever seen in this format during Stanford Jazz Festival in Campbell Recital Hall a number of years ago. Aug. 5th, 2000: The ...

What would anyone on earth think that Arsenio Hall's producers would say about this or any act they're pumping?
Given a TV spot with limited time thought it was fabulous and Esperanza definitely went to a place I'd venture she's never visited before as a vocalist!

The touring band has recently had and old band mate of mine Neil Jason on board. Neil was on the Brecker Bros. for a while. I see that Neil subs on Letterman for Will Lee sometimes.

Re: We're an older crowd here I do believe
I started posting at JC in '02, so I never got to experience JCS. Oddly enough, Steve Reynolds was the one and only reason I even started posting on JC. So you can all blame him. I just caught the tail end of JCS on my first computer which I bought on my own which was a dumb thing to do which was n...

Re: Dave Valentin Tribute & Benefit Concert This Thursday
-While I understand there's minimal interest in Latin Jazz on JT (or on any music board honestly!), this is about a concert for a good cause, not to mention this is one killa band! It's odd, even though I've been a music lover for so long, and understand the hardships of being a professional Jazz p...
