Re: Phil Everly -- R.I.P.

Another amazing talent is no longer with us. I loved the Everly Brothers from the 1st notes I heard from them. I played in two different bands in the 50s/60s who covered much of their material.

Re: Dwayne Burno Has Died

How tragic! He was only 43? Yes, June. Sad, but true. The following explains a few things. Pianist Jason Lindner, a peer of Burno’s, posted on Facebook: "We lost a true master of the double bass yesterday. Dwayne Burno, 43, schooled and inspired me as one of the bassists I played most with — i...

Dwayne Burno Has Died

What shocking, unexpected news from the owner/manager of Smalls Jazz Club in New York City. I just saw and heard him a few nights ago on the live feed from Smalls with the Peter Bernstein Quartet. Tragic news. "I have been given the awful responsibility of making the following announcement: Our...

Re: Scott's New "Toys"

Wow, and thanks.

Sounds like a great new beginning. Are you achieving a warmer, more tube-like sound, overall, with the Emotiva?

Scott, can you possibly find a smaller image of those PSB headphones? This one is HUGE and requires scrolling! Thanks.

Coda, thanks for the comment. My, what a nice Christmas gift. Your wife should be in heaven with that wonderful camera. She'll really be glad to have that high resolution EVF, trust me! I bought myself a "new" (gently used) Hexanon 55mm f3.5 macro prime lens for my Olympus E-PL1 for Christ...

Before I sign up, Ron, any idea of what's there to be seen/heard? David, there is a wide variety of talent on any given night. I always find something enjoyable. Typically, there are at least 2 groups, sometimes 3, depending upon the number of sets each one plays. Lots of young up-and-coming player...

Well, the new ASUS M51BC desktop has landed. With the very able assistance of our son, Justin, we should have our new computer online and purring very soon. Seems like a lot of camera for the price, Brooks. Well, I finally decided to pull the trigger. It was gone from Amazon, but Adorama had the same price with free shipping and NO tax. I also found out that Amazon 'buys' select used equipment - and can get a decent price from them on my Nikon. Will he...
