Re: Snarky Puppy!

It's odd, because much of their stuff is borderline Smooth Jazz, which I really have no ear for anymore. But there's just something about what they're doing, and the infectious happiness they exude that really hit me at the perfect time. Isn't it odd? You say borderline Smooth (which I also skeeve!...

You are correct. That was the genesis for that thread. And, sharing photos and stories of cameras, new and old.

This is one of those videos that truly must be seen to be believed. There are other earlier videos of these two characters, but I saw this one first this morning, thanks to a friend who sent me a link in an e-mail. Wayne Shorter Interview

If you can ignore or tolerate two short commercials (and Tavis, occasionally), there is the wisdom and insight of a nearly 60-year career with saxophonist Wayne Shorter in the clip linked below. This aired last night on PBS. Wayne Shorter Interview The interview gets better and better by-the-minute,...

Re: Acoustic or Electric?

Your example, Ron, of Chick Corea is well taken. I've always thought that his choice of instrumentation follows the requirements of the music he hears in his head, as opposed to, "Here's a cool new toy, let's do something with it." His playing is exceptional regardless of what instrumenta...

I didn't anticipate this topic to be controversial, merely one to stimulate conversation.
