Re: What's New?
Also amazing that she was able to coax Mark Hollis out of retirement to both play on and produce the album.

Re: What's New?
Steve, I've listened to Jan Garbarek for years and saw him live on tour with the Hilliard Ensemble in Osaka, I believe in 1994 or 1995. Amazing performance. I still have a soft spot for I Took Up the Runes , as well as the ensemble work of all the contributors on Gary Peacock's Guamba : htt...

I went ahead and corrected the wording to match better with the friend/foe wording used everywhere else.

You can still view the posts made by those on your foe list. There is a link provided.
I temporarily added you as a foe, and this is what I saw on the thread:

There is no way currently within phpBB to automatically block all foe PMs, but there is a way for recipients of PMs from foes to automatically delete them via a personal PM rule setting. Screenshots provided below. First, go to the "Rules, folders & settings" section of your PM area. h...

Re: The Coffee & Tea Thread
I agree on the Bustelo. Very good coffee. It's available at a reasonable price at Target in California. It is in my regular coffee brand rotation. Local LA Gaviña espresso roast is also quite good.

Re: Cameras & Photography
I ended up sending the lens back, but wonder if I should have kept it anyway. It had some rough spots on the front element that made me worry about its longevity and potential image problems in other scenarios, so this is all that remains of it.

Re: Food For Thought
There really is no way to class up this sandwich. But you can buy a t-shirt in support of the concept. https://a248.e.akamai.net/origin-cdn.volusion.com/vlexv.nwmdm/v/vspfiles/photos/SHU303-2T.jpg?1357054946 Although I think the exclamation point detracts from the keeping calm convention.

Re: Food For Thought
Only once on a dare while traveling with friends in England in my mid-20s, I consumed a chip butty at a local fish & chips shop. The same rules of "any old bread" applied for this treat, too. It is easily described as the kind of food you'll only eat once you already have some alcohol ...

My other piece of audio equipment in support of headphones is this interesting little USB D/A converter from Asus. Re: Headphones
My portable audio setup is a little unconventional. I have an 80GB gen 5.5 iPod, with Rockbox firmware installed, allowing me to bypass iTunes and just drag and drop all my audio onto the device, and also allowing me to use alternative audio compression formats such as Musepack (my favorite) and Ogg...

Re: Headphones
For nicely isolated, accurately-reproduced listening in the office, I use the very capable Shure SRH440 headphones. The coiled cable is extremely useful in the office setting. http://createway.com/images/shared/srh440.jpg For recording, I use the Audio-Technica ATH-M40fs headphones. As these come wi...
