Very modern, post-bop music. I first heard him in a band called "Lost Tribe." My favourite "we play everything we want to but we always remember it's jazz."

He's also on a bunch of others' discs I dig - Donny McCaslin : Perpetual Motion | John Escreet - Consequences | Joel Harrison - Harbor.

Try it, I think you'll like it.

Actually, I use http://tunein.com/radio/Jazz-c57944/. A lot of it is "smooth" cr*p, but there are stations from all over the world, some okay. Possibly the best thing about it is that somewhere in the world, it ISN'T time for "dinner jazz".

There's actually a pretty good station in Wyoming (depending on time of day/dee jay). Who'd have thought? http://tunein.com/radio/Jazz-Wyoming-901-s36399/

85-years ago today.

Every time there was something important to be announced....Pops would play this beforehand.

When my oldest brother's daughter (the first first born daughter born on my Pops side in known history. She is a Rock Star!) was born. They both sent this to everyone. When my child is born in Oct.

Joe Henderson on http://radyo.itu.edu.tr/

"Our university has been the pioneer on radio and television technologies throughout the country for years, hence, in that direction; ITU Radio, as the first University radio in Turkey, was established and had started regular radio broadcast in 1945. ...By the beginning of 1998, internet broadcasting also started out. Besides Classical Music, we also give place to the selected examples from Rock, Blues and Jazz music on the radio. During the day, art activities throughout the city and academic notices are also announced in the news. ITU Radio is going to continue to fulfill its educational and cultural functions in the new broadcasting term by its serious polyphonic music programs, as it had been in the past."
