Nixon by Nixon

Postby Mr. Met » August 10th, 2014, 6:06 pm

I didn't think Nixon could get any worse. Seriously.

But then I checked out the documentary on HBO.

What a cretin. What a sick, sick, paranoid man.

I'm pretty sure that's the one that I caught about 45 minutes of last week. Wow. He was one paranoid and pissed off dude. He would spout off racial slurs, and, when he believed that a reporter or anyone else was unfriendly to him, he'd cry "put that (so and so) on the tax list!" Especially if you're a vindictive, paranoid, racist, maybe taping all of your conversations isn't the best idea.

Yes, that was the one, Lenny.

You have to wonder why a guy like that would tape himself? Must have thought he was invincible.

His comments about "Jews and Negroes" were bad enough. Getting the FBI to investigate reporters who he thought were his mortal enemy and then putting the tax hounds on them was heinous.

But saying that he wanted a choice of "peace" or "peace with honor" (which makes no sense at all) in Vietnam and then let thousands of more people get killed because of some arrogant, ego-driven fake idea was too much.

You have to watch Colbert from 8/4. His guests are Pat Buchanan and John Dean, but the whole thing is 'filmed' like a 1970's Tom Snyder interview show - cigarettes, sideburns and all! VERY funny.
