An unusual gig this Thursday in Chicago. The NRG Ensemble plus actor Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire) recreate "The Hal Russell Story":

The "plan" is to try for the 10/1 These Arches shows and 100% for the 10/4 shows specifically to see the three drummers set - something I've never seen listed. Plus it is three of the most mighty drummers in the world of jazz/improvised music.
Only possibility to miss the Saturday 10/4 sets is that the great Kris Davis band, Capricorn Climber is playing the same night @ Cornelia Street.
Capricorn Climber is Ms. Davis, Ingrid Laubrock, Trevor Dunn, Mat Maneri & Tom Rainey
