Nonmembers of Twitter can't open your Follow list, but I see that you're a member of a secret syndicate established, according to this page, to "defend against spam blocking liberals who get conservative Twitter users suspended." Image

What I want to know is how your bird and your cat coexist.

Thank you for updating my links BlueNoter. I often wonder what differences you get without having a password to some of these sites.

Unfortunately all have passed away but they got along terrifically when together:

Twitter takes a while to understand. It's actually a fascinating site to watch unfold from an inner workings perspective. It's all built around algorithms. That's where #TGDN comes in. The name stands for Twitter Gulag Defense Network. Some folks, when they have nothing to say start to lash out at others. In twitter this can take the form of a block. You don't like someone or what they say, you block them. If that person gets enough blocks then they go into the gulag for a period of time.

This defense network is only that - a defense against people who team up to get your account suspended. If you have less than 3,500 followers it doesn't take many people to block you before suspension. But after this magic number, the likelihood of finding enough liberals to block becomes much much harder. We all follow each other and make it more difficult to get spam blocked.

So, no fantasy land. And no attacks on other points of view. Purely defensive. Have a look at my tweets and decide for yourself.

On the Boston picture - not sure which one you like. My favorite pictures are taken with my Sigma cameras and are mostly in the Foveon folder. Foveon is their unique sensor where RG&B each get their own layer of info on the chip.

To Coda re #196---

Beautiful pets; I'm sorry they've passed. The only bird of yours I'd seen was the yellow one. I'm even more amazed that they could all coexist---and even be friends.

Many years ago, my roommate's tomcat and my large male mutt would lie on the same rug about 10 feet away from each other, and I thought that was the height of harmony.

I think this is within the rules, because the private message I'm resending is one I SENT (accidentally) to Scott. I meant to post it. This is a boneheaded move that's become a habit.

Anyway:

"I can't tell you how happy I am to see Brian post here.

Actually I could, but I fear it would be a deterrent.

We now have a new "Most Unflappable" (I'm NOT suggesting I previously held the title)"

yeah, thanks, saw it (it did come to me) and tried to respond but didn't seem to have that option. Figured it was a newbie safeguard or something.

jeez, this is scary--Coltrane was followed by 'Subtraction' from 'Air Time'.....all this tired old museum music....

Hey Jimmy, good to see you too. If all goes as planned, should be back in a couple of years. In the meantime, I expect to be notified if you find yourself in these fair climes.

Actually, Joanne and I are tentively planning a trip to Paris, hopefully within the next two years. I've already committed to an extended cross-country U.S. trip next year with my brother-in-law who recently retired. I will be retired before we leave. The trip will be an open ended itinerary. If I make it to Paris after that I will be sure to look you up.
