if you mean "heart," Big Bro', you're absolutely correct! that's delicious Demyan (age 6 months) and his beautiful mother, Victoria. The Porter Family has dubbed me Demyan's "adopted grandma" and i'm thrilled!

Glad to see you found us, Chazro. Welcome, bro. Long time no see, my man. Gotta keep the Latin Jazz fires burning!

Hey all,

Marla Kleman. Been a jazz fan since about the age of 11 and that's a long time ago! ;)

Currently, I am fortunate in my work gig in that I am the Box Office Supervisor at Scullers Jazz Club, so when I want to, I walk down one flight of steps and get to listen to some of the greatest music on the planet.

I'm a bit of a stick in the mud in that I'm mostly a fan of straight-ahead jazz, with a more-than-occasional listen to some music that would considered to be outside of the straight-ahead box.

Thanks for the invite and while I'm not one to jump in and post on a daily basis, I hope to share some posts of substance!

I'll add a "welcome Marla". Sadly, Portland is probably the biggest United States city that I don't get to at least once every 18 months. I wish that wasn't the case. Love Portland. My mother and family were from Gresham and The Dalles. I'd gladly give up Malad City, ID in exchange.

First, mazel tov, Jazztalk overlords!

From JC Speakeasy's Alley thread Announce Time Off Here:

Image

So here I am in a new place after a slight delay. Hello to everybody---and abundant thanks to the people who have asked about me and wished me well! I'm doing okay and hope that y'all are too, especially my fellow survivors of scary illnesses and those whose loved ones are survivors.

Hit it, Gloria!
